Thou shalt not steal.

לא תגנב׃

Leviticus ויקרא (u’Ye-QuRA) 19:11
Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another.
לא תגנבו ולא תכחשו ולא תשקרו איש בעמיתו׃
Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 5:19
Neither shalt thou steal.
ולא תגנב׃

PENALTY FOR STEALING

Pay Back Double or 5x’s value or Death if a Person

Steal a Man = Die

(example… Kidnapping & Stealing a Woman to Prostitute her)

Exodus שמות (ShuMuTh) 21:16
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
וגנב איש ומכרו ונמצא בידו מות יומת׃
Deuteronomy דברים (DaBaR’eyM) 24:7
If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.
כי ימצא איש גנב נפש מאחיו מבני ישראל והתעמר בו ומכרו ומת הגנב ההוא ובערת הרע מקרבך׃

Steal Ox or Sheep  = Restore 4-5x’s it’s Value if Sold

(Anything can compare to this) or Restore Double it’s value

Exodus שמות (ShuMuTh) 22:1-4
[1] If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.
[2] If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
[3] If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.
[4] If the theft be certainly found in his hand alive, whether it be ox, or ass, or sheep; he shall restore double.

1כי יגנב איש שור או שה וטבחו או מכרו חמשה בקר ישלם תחת השור וארבע צאן תחת השה׃

2אם במחתרת ימצא הגנב והכה ומת אין לו דמים׃

3אם זרחה השמש עליו דמים לו שלם ישלם אם אין לו ונמכר בגנבתו׃

4אם המצא תמצא בידו הגנבה משור עד חמור עד שה חיים שנים ישלם׃
